Joseph Wasswa
PhD, Civil & Environmental EngineeringBiography
Joseph Wasswa is a Ugandan and a twin. He is also a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering working with Dr. Teng Zeng. Joseph earned a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Before moving to the U.S., he worked as Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Food Technology, Nutrition and Bioengineering at Makerere University Kampala, Uganda. Joseph also interned at the Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations in Uganda. Currently, his research focuses on water quality and environmental chemistry and, as a trainee, he is interested in learning more about business and management. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys reading (particularly in the field of environmental engineering), going to church, singing gospel, watching movies, and visiting friends.
